The intertidal zone is where sea meets land between low and high tide. Within the fluid boundaries of this dynamic space, I create transient installations and document projects that embrace the vicissitudes of time, tide, and island ecology.

My practice is rooted in the Puget Sound watershed of Washington state, specifically the islands surrounding Skagit Bay where a mixed semi-diurnal tidal cycle exposes a vast mudflat during low tide and pummels the banks during high. As the tide recedes, an assortment of debris serves as my material and provides insights into the regional ecosystem.

May these intertidal creations invite you down to earth, remembering as Donna Haraway wrote, I am a creature of the mud, not the sky.
