DECAY

APRIL 2026

A video documentary and accompanying sculpture of my SALISH RELIQUARY is on view at the DECAY group exhibit at The Vestibule.

SALISH RELIQUARY documents the creation and subsequent dismantling of a saltwater reliquary on February 28, 2026 on the shores of Skagit Bay during a flood tide. It is composed of organic and humanmade objects in various states of decay that tidal currents routinely leave on the beach: concrete blocks, driftwood, seaglass, crab carapaces, bull kelp, bones, shells, reeds, and ground pigment from the ubiquitous terracotta shards.

In this context, these mundane items are briefly elevated as relics, inviting our attention to honor their life cycles and potentially question their presence.
